About

Explore how light travels and how refraction can change what we see. Place a coin in a container and observe how it visibility changes when water is added. Discover that the coin has not actually disappeared—it only appears to disappear because light bends as it travels through water. This simple demonstration introduces the science of light, observation, and refraction.

Visitors may drop into the Creative Construction Zone during regular visitor hours (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday).

Next Gen STEAM Exhibition Series can also come to your class or workshop; contact Stephanie Johnson-Carlton at sjcarlton@artx3.org or (870) 536-3375 to schedule a presentation.
