Can a liquid float on top of another liquid? Make a Liquid Float is a hands-on science activity that introduces students to density and the properties of liquids. Students combine different liquids and observe how some liquids form separate layers instead of mixing together. They will make predictions, observe the layers, and discover that liquids with different densities can float above or sink below one another.
Each Next Gen STEAM Exhibition Series runs for four weeks. Visitors may drop into the Creative Construction Zone during regular visitor hours (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday).
